About Jason

Jason is an experienced marketer and entrepreneur, and he has spent his career working in a variety of roles for startups, media & technology companies, and non-profit organizations.

Jason grew up in Potomac, Maryland and has lived in New York City since 2002. He graduated summa cum laude from New York University with a degree in journalism and psychology. After college, he spent four years working in the marketing department at the Jewish National Fund (JNF), a large non-profit organization.

In 2008, while still working at JNF, Jason launched two websites: NYCDailyDeals and IDreamOfPizza. In just 18 months, he was able to turn a part-time hobby of blogging into two profitable ventures. Around this time, Jason also founded the NYC Pizza Run and NYC Cupcake Run two annual charitable events that combine running and eating. Both races sell out every year, and have been featured in various publications including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.

While continuing to work on these ventures, Jason pursued an MBA at Columbia Business School and graduated in 2013. He spent his MBA summer internship at Google on the YouTube Product Marketing team. Following business school, Jason joined Dailymotion — a French-owned video platform — where he oversaw the company’s US marketing efforts.

In 2015, Jason joined Discovery Communications as the Director of Digital Marketing where he managed marketing efforts across the websites and apps for nine television networks — including Discovery, TLC, and Animal Planet. Currently, he is working as a Director of Customer Acquisition Marketing at The Smithsonian Channel (a CBS Company).

When Jason is not eating (and blogging) about pizza, you can find him working his way through his annual list of New York City restaurants or planning his next food adventure to Asia.
